In addition you’ll have the added support of nearby claims offices and a sophisticated Agency Information Management System reaching right into your office through the internet. Requirements We are looking for someone who is: Driven to Achieve Articulate A Good Communicator Ethical and Honest Independent Financially Stable Dedicated to Success A College Degree (Preferred) Farmers most frequently asked questions: 1. I have no sales experience. Will I be able to sell these products? Insurance is purchased with non-discretionary income. Law in Oklahoma requires auto insurance, lenders require Property insurance, and every business with an employee needs Liability insurance. Therefore, your potential audience is almost limitless. The training you receive will enable you to sell these products effectively. 2. Who will I be selling these products to? Specifically targeted leads will help you start marketing to build your business. Additionally, you may have natural markets without even realizing it. Whether through your softball league, church group, friends or family, you’ll probably have more than enough prospective customers to begin your new career. 3. How much will I earn? During training, you will receive full commissions from every policy you sell. Once you’re a full-time career agent, you’ll be eligible for subsidy income in addition to new business and renewal commissions. Your income is limited only by your desire and efforts. Recent results show that first-year earnings of $50,000 to $60,000 are very attainable, while some three- and four-year agents enjoy incomes over $100,000. 4. How many hours will I be working? Initially, you may market products part time or full time while you maintain your current job. Once you become a career agent, building a successful agency will require plenty of hard work and long hours, especially in the beginning. 5. Who will be training me? Once you’ve obtained your Property/Casualty and Life/Health/Disability licenses, district management will provide training with support offered by Farmers’ Service Center. 6. Where will I work? You may open your agency anywhere you choose within Oklahoma’s Southeast District borders. However, we encourage you to start your career in the district office until you (and district management) feel that you’re ready to open your doors. 7. Is Farmers competitive in the market? Farmers is the third-largest insurer of auto and homes in the nation, and favorable pricing has contributed to tremendous growth. Additionally, we have expanded our products and services to include registered securities, Long Term Care insurance, auto loans, home/auto warranties, and education loans.
