The Sr. Manager or Manager of Web Design will lead the development of Madison Brands' online creative efforts, providing best-in-class vision and execution in interactive design, usability and technology. The right candidate will have the energy to inspire, the experience to lead, and the ability to develop creative direction and deliverables. S/he will have a passion for usability and design, and will take a proactive role in improving the user experience, brand equities and performance metrics of all of our ecommerce efforts. The right candidate will partner with our Creative, Marketing and Merchandising departments to be sure our online efforts fall in line with our brand guidelines across channels (catalog, web, retail), while actively recommending ways to leverage the strengths and unique capabilities of the web channel. This is a hands-on position that requires both leadership and strong contribution to tasks and projects on a daily basis.
Specific Responsibilities: Understands ecommerce, web architecture and technologies at the highest level and stays abreast of changes which could advance our efforts Takes the lead in recommending creative approaches to differentiate the brands and maintain competitive advantage Creates, reviews, optimizes and approves web designs for optimal branding, usability and conversion Confirms all team deliverables meet or exceed business objectives and creative briefs Creates and ensures adherence to each brand's style guides, while also refreshing and evolving over time Develops technical guidelines for the web design team to most effectively create and deliver graphics to web developers Implement qualitative and quantitative testing strategies for all brands to optimize design and layout Leads and develops the team on best practices for usability, conversion and interactive design Personally contributes to the output of the group, creating web graphics, email designs, HTML and CSS Identifies, manages and prioritizes resources on team based on evolving and shifting business priorities Manages processes, workflows and efficiencies to reduce time to market for design work Technical Qualifications: 4 year degree in related field or equivalent work experience 7 years experience in consumer Internet marketing 3+ years leadership experience Excellent design and conceptual experience Strong collaboration and communication skills Strong proficiency in Web Design & Technology, Flows, & UI Design Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, HTML, XML and CSS Familiarity with JavaScript, AJAX a plus Web based Portfolio exhibiting print and web projects Experience working closely with cross-functional teams Ability to work well as a team player but demonstrates skills as a leader Works well under pressure and with tight deadlines
