What You'll Do As a Senior Test Engineer at John Deere's Headquarters in Moline, IL you provide leadership and direction to unit customers and perform Accelerated Design Verification (ADV) testing and resolve design issues for the enterprise. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Verify the structural durability of a component, sub-system, system or full machine Lead structural durability testing and the use of standard, commercially available servo-hydraulic test systems and controllers Conduct field data acquisition and design test fixtures for structural durability tests Utilize strain based fatigue editing and field data processing methods to develop calibrated durability tests What It Takes We need an excellent communicator with leadership potential who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering discipline. In addition we require: 3 years experience performing servo-hydraulic durability tests on component and/or sub-systems using remote parameter control (time history replication) methodology Experience in the collection and processing of field data Experience developing a structural verification test Experience in designing lab test fixtures Ability to manage multiple test projects simultaneously Ability to work with all levels of team members and unit customers Knowledge of fatigue theory A strong candidate will also have: Working knowledge and experience using MTS Remote Parameter Control (RPC) software. Working knowledge and experience using MTS servo-hydraulic test controllers (Flex test IIm). Experience performing tests using MAST (multi axis simulation tables) and/or MTS 329 Road Simulators. Test fixture design and drafting experience using Pro-E software. Working knowledge of Somat edaq data acquisition systems. Experience performing strain based fatigue data editing.
