DSO is a leader in the North American Fats/Oils business. With 17 locations and organized in segments such as Food Ingredients, Food Service Oils, Dressing Sauces & Mayonnaise, and Animal Fat. DSO is a complex business that incorporates, trading, vegetable oil refining, animal fat rendering, dressing's sauces mayonnaise, bulk and packaged oil blends, culinary, product development, and technical services to an array of restaurants, foodservice, and food ingredient customers.

DSO has an open position for a Plant Controller in Fullerton, California. This position is a key member of the Animal Fat and Food Service Oils segments, the Site Leadership Team, the BU Finance Function and the DSO team. It will oversee the financial and administrative functions for the Fullerton and Vernon locations, and ensure internal controls are in place and all financial information and reporting is done timely and accurately. This position will report to the Food Service Oils Controller.

Principal Accountabilities:

40%- Ensure internal controls are in place and monitored, all financial processes are performed timely and accurately and in accordance to GAAP. Key areas of responsibility are (but not limited too) accounts payable management, capital spending analysis & reporting, month end processes, plant yields, budget preparation, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting.
25%- Business partner with facility operations, commercial, and trading teams to improve/implement cost and internal control practices and procedures. Includes plant cost reporting, commitment investment analysis, and commercial projects.
20%- Lead site professionals and clerical accounting staff. Ensure best practices are developed and/or implemented for accounting work and processes at the facility.
15%- Various BU initiatives (ex. mini-audits, continuous improvement projects, system design/implantation projects)','!*!
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
2 plus years supervisory experience
Demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders
Excellent organizational skills with ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to be creative and think strategically about business processes
Self-motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong technical accounting skills, including GAAP and internal controls
Ability to travel 10-20%
Preferred:

Previous experience supervising professionals
Strong plant operations knowledge, yields, process reports, capital spending, plant internal controls
Knowledge of commodity trading principles
Experience with Cargill systems: JDE, Adage, SAP
Demonstrated ability to build effective and cohesive teams
